Monkey Pox :
Monkey Pox is a contagious infection that affects both human beings and animals and is spread by the Orthopoxvirus monkeypox. The presenting complains experienced by a person with monkey pox are rash, fever, skin ulcers or blisters, headache, chills, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes and fatigue. The common ways of transmission of monkey pox are through direct contact with monkey pox sores or scabs, blood and other bodily fluids, mucus or saliva, vertical transmission from a pregnant women to fetus, by getting in contact with materials like clothing, beds and towels used by a person who is infected and by intimate contact. To manage monkey pox, full fledged treatment is not yet available, however, the best treatment option available is the use of antiviral drugs. The preventive measures to be followed to prevent monkey pox disease are vaccination, not touching monkey pox rashes, practicing safe sex, maintaining hygiene, avoiding close contact with people, and wearing a mask to cover the nose and mouth.
