Urologist :
A urologist is a medical doctor trained uniquely for the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in the urinary tract and the male reproductive organs. Just like the general pattern, the student needs to pursue an MBBS training first; then, he proceeds to do postgraduate studies in General Surgery, Masters in Surgery, or DNB. Then comes the specialized studies in urology, normally lasting three years.
Urologists address urinary tract infections, kidney stones, bladder dysfunction, prostate disorders, and male infertility, among many other conditions. They diagnose by different procedures that include cystoscopy, surgical interventions also involve nephrectomy and prostatectomy among others. Their bottom line is that of restoring urinary function in a way that improves the quality of life in the patients and sometimes they work with other health care professionals to offer their patients effective comprehensive care.
