A neurosurgeon is the one who operates on the brain, treating conditions of the brain and the spine, including nervous system. His daily cases are encountered with as many conditions differing forms of tumors in the brain ,traumatic brain injuries , spinal cord injuries; aneurysms. The neurosurgeons can conduct operations of of high complexity in order to remove a tumor, repair the damaged tissues, relieve pressure on the brain or the spinal cord, or cure conditions like herniated discs or spinal deformity. The neurosurgeon is a three-year career in India after clearing MBBS through MS in General Surgery, and then super-specialization through Master of Chirurgiae in Neurosurgery will be an extra three-year period of training. Neurosurgeons are associated with highly complex surgical interventions, and some of them even save the lives of the patients, so post-operative care for such patients may sometimes require rehabilitation or physiotherapy because he/she may recover earlier. Even more vital is the revival of the quality of life of patients because of neurosurgeons. Patients undergoing a neurosurgery are often advised physiotherapy as a part of the treatment plan.
