Hypertension In Pregnancy :
Hypertension in pregnancy or gestational hypertension or pregnancy-induced hypertension, is high blood pressure that starts after 5 months of pregnancy, and ends shortly after delivery of the baby. Hypertension in pregnancy is diagnosed when the obtained blood pressure measurement is equal to or greater than 140/90 mm of Hg.
Some of the signs of high blood pressure during pregnancy include, headache, vision changes, nausea, vomiting, sudden weight gain, reduced urine output, and pain in the abdomen or belly.
It is important to keep in mind that high blood pressure during pregnancy may cause symptoms, and therefore, it is important to attend all the pre-natal visits scheduled by your doctor.
Talk to your doctor if your blood pressure measurement is equal to or above 140/90 mm of Hg, or if you have any symptoms of high blood pressure.
