Mastitis :
Mastitis is a term used to describe the inflammation of breast tissue, which is caused by a bacterial infection. The symptoms of mastitis can be pain in the breast, swelling of the breast, lump in the breast, and redness of the breast. There may also be flu like symptoms such as fever, chills, and aches. The causes of mastitis can be blockage of the milk duct, intervention of microorganisms into the breast, and other causes can be cracked nipples, oversupply of milk, and infections due to yeast. The diagnosis of mastitis is done through a mammogram or ultrasound of the breast. The treatment options included in treating mastitis are antibiotics, painkillers, and warm compresses and cold compresses. The prevention of mastitis can be done by having a proper latch by the baby, maintaining proper hygiene, emptying the breasts completely, and having proper rest and hydration with a lot of fluids can be helpful.
