Liver failure :
Liver failure is a chronic liver condition where the liver fails to perform its regular functions according to the needs of the body. The symptoms of liver failure are abdominal pain, malaise, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, fatigue, altered mental status, dark colored urine and light colored stool, easy bleeding and bruising, itchy skin without a visible rash, visible blood vessels that look like spiders or like a rash of tiny dots, digestive difficulties, musty smelling breath, weight loss and muscle loss, ascites, edema, vomiting blood, low urine output, shortness of breath and motor dysfunction. The factors causing liver failure are viral infections, drug overdoses, pregnancy complications, chronic alcohol use, genetic disorders, metastatic cancer, bile duct obstruction, inherited metabolic disorders, heatstroke, fatty liver and cardiovascular diseases. Liver failure is treated by treatment for toxic overdose which includes laxatives, gastric lavage and activated charcoal, bowel irrigation and medications.
