Palpitations :
Palpitation is a feeling of having a fast, pounding, or fluttering heart beat. Exercise, medication, stress, and a few underlying medical conditions, are all known to trigger palpitations. Palpitations can either be harmless or can be a symptom of an underlying serious heart condition such as arrhythmias that require immediate medical care.
Palpitations might be felt in the neck, or throat, or chest. They can occur at rest or during activity, or sometimes, both. Palpitations that last only a few seconds or those that are infrequent usually don't require to be evaluated. Talk to a doctor if you have a history of heart disease, and experience palpitations that occur frequently or worsen.
Seek emergency medical care if palpitations occur with pain or discomfort in the chest, shortness of breath, dizziness, and fainting.
