Circumcision :

Circumcision is surgical procedure in which the foreskin of the penis is removed. It is often an elective procedure due to conditions like phimosis, paraphimosis, balanoposthitis, recurrent infections, religious or cultural practices etc and it can be neonatal circumcision (in newborn babies within few days of birth), elective and or therapeutic. It reduces the chance of penile cancer if it is done in early. It is done by a general surgeon or urologist under local anesthesia with minimal to no complications. It is a day care procedure and the patient can be discharged on the same day with instructions to wound care, medications for pain management, bleeding and a follow up visit .
