Astigmatism :

The refractive condition in the eye is known as astigmatism, wherein either the cornea or the lens doesn't hold a shape normally. They blur or distort the visions of the person having such an issue. The cornea of the eye is usually round instead of being oval. This makes light skew where it focuses on the retin. Risk factors include family history with eye problems, trauma to the eye, and surgical eye procedures. Some symptoms are blurred vision at any distance, eye strain, headaches, and poor night vision. In extreme cases, it may make both near and far visions distorted, making it almost impossible to read or see things clearly to drive. Most usually get detected through routine eye exams.

Another corrective treatments of the disorder include using corrective lenses either in eyeglasses or contact lenses. These correct for irregular curvatures of the cornea. Most extreme cases are treated with refractive surgeries, especially the LASIK or any other laser eye surgery, to permanently reshape the cornea and improve one's vision.
