Otologist :
An otologist is a medical doctor who specializes in dealing with ear conditions. To become an otologist, one has to complete five and half years of MBBS degree followed by post graduation in ENT and then super specialize in otology. An otologist commonly treats conditions like hearing loss, balance disorders, tinnitus, acute and chronic ear infections, cholesteatoma, Menierre's disease, and otosclerosis and takes surgical interventions for complex ear conditions. The symptoms for which one should visit an otologist are sudden or progressive hearing loss, nerve problems in the ear, certain types of vertigo, specific ear infections, hearing loss, ringing in the ears, ear pain, ear infections, dizziness, and balance problems.
