Nephrologist :
A medical doctor who has done his super specialty degree in nephrology after the completion of his master's in general medicine that deals with the treatment of diseases in the kidneys is known as a nephrologist. Human kidneys are very vital organs in the human body due to their contribution to the filtration of waste and excess fluids inside the blood. Generally, the conditions they tend to be when they fail tend to be very serious. Among the common diseases that a nephrologist may treat are chronic kidney disease, infections of the kidney, kidney stones, high blood pressure due to problems with the kidneys, and failure of the kidney. The patient must see a nephrologist if they are on dialysis, that is, the cleaning of blood when kidneys are not working properly or before such time as they may undergo a kidney transplant. Furthermore, so as not to cause further damage to the kidneys, he would counsel lifestyles, prescribe drugs and even impose dialysis in some cases. They collaborate with other experts like cardiologists and endocrinologists since the level of damage in one area of one organ can be equivalent to the damage happening in another region of a different organ in the body.
