Hypertensive Diet :
A hypertensive diet is also called a DASH diet. The DASH diet is described as Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It is a healthy eating plan to maintain blood pressure at normal levels along with the medications. This diet contains minerals, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. It mainly focuses on eating vegetables, whole grains, and fruits. It also includes a low-fat diet, such as low-fat dairy products, poultry, fish, nuts, and beans. In this hypertensive diet, sodium-rich food called salt-rich foods should be limited. The goal of the DASH diet is to have sodium not more than 2,300 mg per day, saturated fats to be not more than 6 %, and while eating fats, it should be monosaturated fats such as olive oil, have to consume fresh fruits, and dietary cholesterol should be 150 mg. It is important to eat foods with low fiber, along with medications and regular exercise, to have blood pressure at normal levels.
