Herpes :

Herpes is a viral infection that spreads via sexual contact. It spreads via direct contact with the infected skin and can affect the mouth and genitals. When an individual contracts herpes, they may experience symptoms like pain during urination, headache, fever, eye infection and body pain. Moreover, the affected individual develops bumps around the genitals, anus or mouth. These bumps may ooze out an unusual discharge. However, after this first outbreak, many individuals do not feel any symptoms.

The diagnosis of herpes involves taking a sample of the discharge from one of the sores around the anus, genitals or mouth. The sample is sent to a lab for testing and the results allow the doctor to make the diagnosis. In some cases, a blood test is done to diagnose herpes.

There is no cure for this infection but medications can provide relief from the symptoms and reduce the risk of an outbreak.
