Deafness :
Deafness refers to complete hearing loss, and it is seen that some people are born deaf, and some people become deaf at later stages of life. The signs of deafness are only hearing noises in the ears like ringing, hissing, and buzzing sounds. People who are deaf find it difficult to understand a conversation, respond to a person when spoken to, and react to loud noises. Deafness is usually caused when there is an abnormal growth of the tiniest bones in the middle ear, damage of the cochlear in the inner ear, exposure to loud noise and certain medications, and medical conditions and also problems with the nerve between the cochlear and brain. Deafness is seen to affect people who work in noisy environments and those who have been exposed to loud machinery and tools. The available treatment options to manage deafness are using hearing aids, bone conduction hearing aids and cochlear implants.
