Chalazion :
Chalazion refers to an inflammatory condition characterized by the formation of a swollen, pain-free bump on the eyelid, which forms when the glands of the eyelid are blocked. The symptoms of a chalazion are mild irritation, causing watering of the eye, blurred vision due to a larger chalazion pushing on the eyeball, and an entirely swollen eyelid. There is a higher risk of developing a chalazion in people who have had a chalazion before, who have chronic blepharitis, skin conditions like dandruff or rosacea, with dry skin, and those who are experiencing hormonal changes. A chalazion can be managed at home by warm compression and maintaining good hygiene. Doctors treat chalazion by draining the fluid through an incision and also by steroid injections.
