A gastro surgeon refers to surgical specialist who studies further to perform surgical treatments to manage problems related to the digestive system. To certify as a gastro surgeon, one has to complete five and half years of MBBS from a medical college, followed by pursuing post graduation in MS or DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology.
