Vitiligo :
Vitiligo can be a skin infection that affects the skin, and it can appear as lighter in color than the normal color of the skin, due to certain autoimmune conditions that are affecting the body, such as Addison's disease, anemia, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease, psoriasis, and lupus. There are many types of vitiligo, such as mucosal, generalized, segmental, universal, trichome, and focal. The symptoms that can be noticed when there is vitiligo include white patches of skin compared to the natural skin, itching of the skin, and hair patches that also turn gray or white. The areas that are commonly affected by vitiligo are arms, genitals, face, hands, feet, mucus membranes inside the mouth, nose, and lips. The diagnosis of vitiligo can be based on the physical examination of the skin, by doing the wood's lamp test to analyse the skin. The management of vitiligo can be made through medications, depigmentation therapy, light therapy, counselling, and surgical treatment.
