Aortic valve stenosis :
Aortic valve stenosis or aortic stenosis is caused when the aortic valve is restricted or blocked. It may be caused by age wise damage of wear and tear, underlying damage infections in rheumatic fever or scarlet fever, chronic or other inherited diseases like lupus, kidney failure, and rheumatoid arthritis. Some of the common symptoms of aortic valve stenosis are chest palpitations, fatigue, lower extremities edema, chest pain, and syncope. It is diagnosed by performing advanced imaging studies like ECG, MRI, CT scan or cardiac catheterization procedures. Aortic valve stenosis is treated with medications like blood thinners, valve surgery or valve replacement procedures like Ross or transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Earlier or timely intervention of aortic valve stenosis is beneficial for the life sustainability of the affected individual.
