Plantar Fasciitis :
Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia. It is a part present between the heel and toes of the foot. The plantar fasciitis can be caused due to many reasons, such as irritation or damage to the plantar fascia while playing sports, exercising without a warm-up, exercising on a hard surface, wearing the wrong shoes, walking barefoot, and some health conditions can also lead to plantar fasciitis, such as flat feet, high arch feet, and obesity. The symptoms that can be noticed in plantar fasciitis will be stiffness, heel pain, swelling around the heel, pain in the foot arch, and tightness in the Achilles tendon. The diagnosis for plantar fasciitis will be based on the MRI scan, ultrasound scan, and X-rays. The treatment advised for plantar fasciitis will be with medications, having rest, wearing shoes that are supportive, icing the foot, immobilization with a walking boot, shoe inserts, stretching and massaging, platelet-rich plasma therapy, using corticosteroids, and percutaneous needle tenotomy.
