Hair Transplant :

Hair transplant is called the procedure of moving hair from an area of thick hair to an area with thin or bald area. There are two types of hair transplant procedures, follicular unit transplantation and follicular unit extraction. Hair transplant is a procedure carried out with local anesthesia and sedation to numb the area. In the procedure of follicular unit transplantation, a thin strip of hair will be removed from the back part of the head and divided into pieces, each having 1 to 4 hairs called grafts, then the grafts are placed on the tiny cuts which are made on the scalp. Then the area is closed using sutures. There will be a scar on the back of the head. In the procedure of follicular unit extraction, the back part of the head is shaved and then individual hairs are removed 1 by 1 and then the grafts are placed in the tiny cuts that are made on the scalp. It will take around 1-2 weeks time after the hair transplant procedure. The risk factors can be infection, bleeding and allergic reaction to anesthesia.
