He completed his MBBS from Sri Venkateshwara University in Andhra Pradesh in 1967, followed by MS (Gen Surgery) and MCh (Neuro Surgery) from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad in 1978. He further pursued an MSc (Med) and a Ph.D. Dr. Sastry has served as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at various prestigious hospitals such as SVS Hospital, Woodlands Hospital, Medwin Hospital, Sri Krishna Neuro Polytrauma Hospital, Amor Hospital in Hyderabad, and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore.
