Bariatric Surgery :
Bariatric surgery can also be referred to as weight loss surgery. The bariatric surgery will be done by modifying the digestive system to regulate the calories that are eaten. Bariatric surgery is mainly used to treat class III obesity, in which weight loss is not possible with regular diet control and exercise. The conditions that can be managed with bariatric surgery can be high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, heart disease, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, and non alcohol related fatty liver disease. The diagnosis of class III obesity will be done first and then there will be a few requirements, such as having a BMI of 40 or higher, a BMI of 35, or having any health issue. There are many types of bariatric surgeries such as gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, and stomach intestinal pylorus sparing surgery (SIPS). The advantages associated with bariatric surgery will be sustained weight loss, improved metabolism, management of blood sugar and cholesterol, and a healthier life.
