Liposuction :
Liposuction is a procedure in which excess fat is removed from an area of the body. It is a surgical procedure and is performed to improve the appearance of the body. Liposuction is usually done on areas such as the stomach, thighs, back, neck, upper arms and buttocks.
Liposuction is only performed when diet and exercise do not reduce the fat in an area. Moreover, an individual should be in good health, be a non-smoker and have realistic expectations from the procedure. Before the procedure begins, the patient is put to sleep using anaesthesia. The surgeon then makes small cuts in the area and attaches a suction device under the skin. The device breaks up the fat underneath the area, which is then sucked out of the body. If a lot of fat is removed from the body, then the patient may need to stay in the hospital overnight.
