Types of skin rejuvenation treatment

The types of skin rejuvenation treatments are listed below:

Microdermabrasion:

During this procedure, an applicator that has an abrasive surface is used to even out the overall skin tone. This procedure is suited for all skin types and is considered to be a safe procedure. This procedure is generally used to minimize wrinkles and fine lines. It can also reduce mild acne scars, and age-related dark spots, brightening and improving the skin tone.

Dermabrasion:

This procedure is very similar to microdermabrasion. During this procedure, a rotating tool is used to remove the topmost layer of the skin. The injured area starts to bleed followed by the growth of a new skin layer that appears smooth and youthful. This procedure is used to treat fine lines, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and sun spots. This procedure is done on an outpatient basis. The recovery period depends upon how many layers of skin were removed and how deep the procedure was done.

Chemical peeling:

As the name suggests, a variety of different chemicals are used to peel off the outermost layer of the skin. During this procedure, a chemical solution is applied to the outermost layer of the skin, these chemicals will exfoliate the skin and eventually peel off. The new skin which is formed will be healthier and will have even-toned skin. Chemical peeling can be classified into light, medium, and deep chemical peeling. A few of the chemicals that can be used are salicylic acid, trichloroacetic acid, and glycolic acid. The chemical peeling technique is used to brighten dark skin, remove discoloration of the skin, tighten the skin, remove age spots, maintain an even tone of skin, and blotchiness.

Laser resurfacing:

Laser resurfacing is a procedure that works on two primary energy sources heat and light energy. There are two types of lasers used during this procedure, which include ablative laser and non-ablative laser. During this procedure, the outermost layer of the skin is removed, and heat the underlying layer of the skin. Doing this will stimulate the growth of collagen fiber to improve the even tone of the skin and improve the skin texture. Laser resurfacing is one of the best skin rejuvenation options since it does not cause much damage to the surrounding tissue and the recovery period may take about a few days to weeks.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL):

During this procedure, controlled rays of light are used to rejuvenate the skin. A broad spectrum of light is exposed to the damaged tissue followed by stimulating collagen production for the improvement of overall skin growth. This procedure requires a few sessions in order to get good results. This procedure is suited for people who have wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and sun damage.

Botox treatment:

It is a most popularly known skin rejuvenation technique. It is the most common anti-aging treatment. They are effective in treating the wrinkles which are formed on the face, neck area, and near the eyes. This is a temporary method, during this procedure, a botulinum toxin is injected to weaken a few muscles by blocking the nerves. Using botox injection will reduce the degree of muscle movement thereby softening the existing wrinkles and preventing the future formation of deep lines.

Ultra therapy skin tightening:

It is a non-invasive therapy, during which sound waves are used to penetrate deep into the skin, causing contraction between the muscles which will result in a firm and wrinkle-free skin surface. This procedure is mainly used for treating the loosening of the skin, resulting in firming, stiffening, and lifting the skin.

Facelift surgery:

During the procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision around the ear lobe area and pulls back the loosened skin and connective tissue around the face and neck region, and removes the excess skin before closing the incisions.

Dermal fillers:

They are used to restore the volume and fullness of the face. This procedure will help in delaying the signs of aging without the need for any surgical intervention.

Micro-needling:

This procedure will help in stimulating elastin and collagen production. During this procedure, ascorbic acid or hyaluronic acid is applied before or after the procedure. The doctor uses small, sharp, thin needles on the skin. This procedure is mainly effective for skin scarring.
