Worm infestation :
Worm infestation occurs when the intestine is infected with worms like tapeworms, roundworms, pinworms, and hookworms. It spreads when people consume infected food or water, make contact with soil containing infected germs, touch pets with infected water, improper hygiene, and inadequate hand washing. Symptoms of worm infections include irritability, weight loss, stomach ache, bed wetting, and blood in stools. Tapeworm infection may cause jaundice, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, eating too frequently, and malnutrition. Roundworm infection may cause diarrhea, worms with stools, dry cough, and fever. Pinworm infection may cause itching around the anus, trouble sleeping, and painful urination; Hookworm infection may cause wheezing, coughing, fatigue, and anemia. Diagnosis is made by stool test, colonoscopy, tape test, blood test, antibody test, and imaging tests like X-rays and MRI.
