Measles :
Measles is a viral infection that can occur in children. Measles is a contagious disease, and it will spread easily. It will start with cold-like symptoms and form rashes over the face, and will spread to the rest of the body. Measles is caused by a virus called morbillivirus, and it mainly spreads through the air. The symptoms which will be observed in measles will be cough, watery eyes, red rashes on the face and all over the body, cold with running nose, tiredness, high fever, muscle pain, headache, Koplik spots (red spots and white in the centre are seen in the mouth), and sore throat. The measles will be detected through performing blood tests, urine tests, and a swab test from the nose and throat. There is no proper treatment available to treat measles, but it can have symptomatic relief by using supplements of vitamin A, as measles can be caused due to the deficiency of vitamin A in children, and medications. The home remedies that are followed when the child is having measles will include making them drink lots of fluids, not sharing their towels or clothes with others, maintaining hygiene, using an air humidifier, and giving rest to the eyes.
