Lung Cancer :
It is normal for the cells in the body to make copies of themselves. However, a mutation can cause these cells to multiply uncontrollably and form tumours. When such rapid cell multiplication happens in the lungs, it is called lung cancer. Lung cancer is of two main types: mall cell and non-small cell, with the former being harder to treat. The symptoms of this disease tend to be similar to less serious illnesses, such as a persistent cough, tiredness, and shoulder pain. However, it may also cause more concerning symptoms like chest pain, breathlessness, coughing up blood, and weight loss. If a doctor suspects the presence of lung cancer after a physical exam, they will order blood tests and chest X-rays. Then, more tests like CT scans and biopsy may be required. Treatment options include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy, and immunotherapy.
