A paediatric orthopaedic surgeon is a surgical specialist who deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the musculoskeletal system in children. A paediatric orthopaedic surgeon is qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by post-graduation in MS in orthopaedics. Then they will be specialised with a super speciality fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics or an MCh in pediatric orthopaedics. A paediatric orthopaedic surgeon is well-trained in managing many conditions, such as injuries and fractures of bones, dislocations, sports injuries, congenital conditions like clubfoot, limb deformities, spine deformities, bow legs, gait abnormalities, knock knees, bone infections, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, cerebral palsy, and spinal muscular atrophy.
