A neurologist pursues a degree in MBBS, then a degree of MD in Medicine, and then a degree of DM in Neurology. Some neurologists even specialize in paediatric neurology, where he or she treats children suffering from neurological disorders. They are known as paediatric neurologists. Neurologists treat patients suffering from epilepsy, stroke, dementia, headache, migraines, Alzheimer's disease, and many other diseases pertaining to the brain. Neurologists also perform certain procedures like spinal tapping and myelography. Diagnosis is made through physical examination and some radiological investigations like MRI, CT scan, Electroencephalogram, polysomnogram, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, tilt test, sleep study, nerve studies, and some basic blood investigations and urine analysis.
