Hernia :
Hernia is a medical condition seen in the abdomen or groin region, which is visualized as an odd bulge through an opening or weakness in the muscle that contains it and comes and goes during different activitie and different positions. The common locations of hernia are in the lower chest region through the diaphragm, along the front midline of the abdomen, through a former abdominal surgery incision, and in the groin region through the lower abdominal wall. Hernias are divided into different types, such as inguinal hernia, femoral hernia,congenital diaphragmatic hernia, hiatal hernia, umbilical hernia, incisional hernia, ventral hernia and perineal hernia. The risk factors for getting a hernia are increased in people who work in jobs that involve heavy lifting and long standing hours, chronic cough, allergies, chronic constipation, pregnancy, history of abdominal or pelvic surgery and chronic obesity. Hernia repair repair surgery is the usual treatment advised to correct it.
