Paediatrician :
A pediatrician is a children's doctor who diagnoses and treats newborns and children. The academic qualifications needed to become a pediatrician are an MBBS degree, which is obtained by completing five years of education in a medical college, and post graduation degree in Pediatrics. The major role of a pediatrician is to conduct regular health checkups in children, administer vaccinations like tetanus and polio in children and manage various acute and chronic medical conditions in children. A pediatrician commonly treats conditions such as diarrhea, common cold, respiratory infections, ear infections, minor injuries like minor sprains, skin conditions, allergies, chronic ones like developmental delays, diabetes and less-serious problems in children. A wide range of conditions including mental, physical, behavioral and developmental health issues in children are also handled by a pediatrician. The common symptoms dealt with by a paediatrician include ear pain, rash, fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, runny nose, sore throat, fatigue and irritability.
