Wilms Tumor :
Wilms tumor is a common kidney tumor mostly seen in children under 15 years old. Symptoms include belly pain, swelling in the belly, growth in the belly, fever, nausea, lack of appetite, high blood pressure, blood in the pee, constipation and shortness of breath, weakness, fatigue, and fever. Factors that influence Wilms tumor are age, gender, race, family history, birth defects like lack of colored area of the eye, oversized arm or leg, health conditions like WAGR syndrome, Denys Drash syndrome, microcephaly, and Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome. Types include favorable histology, where there is a good chance of being cured, and unfavorable histology, which is harder to cure. Diagnosis can be made by running tests like blood and urine tests, chest X-ray, abdominal ultrasound, CT Scan, MRI tests, and Biopsy. Treatments include surgery like partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, and removal of both kidneys, chemotherapy, and radiation.
