Skin Cancer :
Skin cancer is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells. Skin cancer is classified into different types such as basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, kaposi carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, merkel cell carcinoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and sebaceous gland carcinoma. The significant signs of skin cancer include a new growth or a change in an existing mole or growth in size, shape or that bleeds, a flat, red or pink or brown colored bump or patch, a waxy or peary bump on the face, ears and neck, areas on the skin that look like scars, sores that look crusty, bleed often or have a depression in the middle, a rough, scaly lesion and a wound or sore that doesn't heal or that heals and comes back again. Skin cancer is treated by cryotherapy, excisional surgery, curettage and electrodesiccation, Mohs surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, photodynamic therapy and immunotherapy.
