Polyhydramnios :
Polyhydramnios is described as elevated amounts of amniotic fluid in the uterus during pregnancy. Amniotic fluid surrounds the fetus in the uterus and enhances the development and growth of the baby. Polyhydramnios may occur in the second half of pregnancy or after sixteen weeks of pregnancy. There are no significant signs observed during mild cases of polyhydramnios. In severe conditions, the presenting complains would be cramping or contractions, difficulty in passing stool, heartburn, sensation of tightness in the stomach, urinating more often, swelling in the legs, vulva and feet and shortness of breath. The patient is said to have polyhydramnios if the uterus is measuring larger than expected for the gestational age of the pregnancy, if they are unable to feel the fetus's position in the uterus, or if there is difficulty finding a fetal heartbeat. The factors contributing to this condition include high blood glucose levels, carrying twins with TTTS, and congenital disorders.
