Narcolepsy :
Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder that affects the nervous system and a person's quality of life. Symptoms include extreme daytime sleepiness, automatic behaviors, and sudden muscle weakness, hallucinations, sleep paralysis, changes in rapid eye movement sleep, amnesia, sudden outbursts around sleep attacks. Types include Type 1, which involves sleepiness, and cataplexy, and Type 2, which involves excessive daytime sleepiness. They also experience brain fog, poor concentration, decreased energy, memory lapse, exhaustion, and depressed mood. Diagnosis is made by thorough medical and sleep history, physical examination, and sleep studies. It can also be associated with sleep conditions like restless leg syndrome, obstructive sleep apnea, and insomnia.
