Lung Infections :
Lung infection is an infection of one or both lungs caused by viruses, bacteria, and sometimes by fungus. Signs and symptoms include coughing up a lot of mucous that may be clear, white, green and yellowish gray, stabbing pains in the chest, flu, fever, sweating, chills, dehydration, headache, weakness, itchy water nose, breathlessness, tiredness, wheezing, skin that looks bluish, crackling noises from lungs. The most common types of lung infections are pneumonia, bronchitis, and bronchiolitis. Diagnosis for lung infections includes imaging, chest X-ray, CT Scan, pulse oximetry, spirometry, testing a sample of mucous, throat swab, complete blood count, and blood culture. Treatment plans include ibuprofen to lower the fever, drinking lots of water, salt water gargling, resting as much as possible, and using humidifiers and antibiotics.
