Low Vision :
Low vision is an eye problem in which there are complete and permanent disturbances of vision. The low vision will be caused due to many reasons, such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, trachoma, amblyopia, injuries to the eyes, nystagmus, refractive errors, retinopathy due to premature birth, hypersensitivity retinopathy, strabismus, retinitis pigmentosa, vitamin A deficiency, eye cancer, and injuries to the brain. The symptoms that are noticed in low vision will be loss of central vision, loss of perception of distance, loss of side vision, loss of glare resistance, loss of night vision, contrast sensitivity, and these symptoms will cause difficulties in driving, classroom learning, reading, cooking, recognizing faces of people, and computer use. The diagnosis of low vision will depend on the vision tests, which are done by an eye care specialist. The treatment advised for low vision will be done by doing vision rehabilitation, assistive technologies include using magnifying devices, large print books, and low vision aids.
