Liver Disease :
Liver disease is a set of diseases which damage the liver and affect its functioning and causes chronic conditions which progress over time. After the severity is increased, liver diseases are categorized into four stages such as hepatitis, fibrosis, liver cirrhosis and liver failure. The factors responsible for causing liver diseases include viral infections, non alcohol induced fatty liver disease, alcohol induced hepatitis, autoimmune diseases, biliary stasis and inherited metabolic diseases. The presenting complains of liver disease in the early stages include upper abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue and malaise. The symptoms of later stage liver disease are jaundice, dark colored urine, light colored stool, digestive difficulties, muscle loss, weight loss, musty smelling breath, mild brain impairment and pruritus, easy bleeding and bruising, spoon nails, terry nails, nail clubbing, red palms of the hands, small yellow bumps of fat deposits on the skin or eyelids, spider angiomas, petechiae, ascites, swollen ankles, feet, hands and face.
