The diagnosis of leg ulcers can be based on the physical examination, biopsy, and ankle-brachial index test. The management of leg ulcers will be based on compression therapy, in which stockings or bandages will be used for the stimulation of blood flow, elevation of legs, antibiotic medications to treat infections, and wound care involving debridement of dead tissues and then application of topical antiseptic ointments, sclerotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, surgery, and skin grafts.
