Knock Knees :
Knock knees, also known as genu valgum, are conditions in which knees touch but ankles do not. Causes of knock knees are metabolic disease, kidney failure, lack of vitamin D, trauma, overweight, congenital conditions, arthritis, bone infection, injury to the growth plate, benign bone tumors, and malunion. Symptoms include knee pain, foot pain, stiff joints, reduced motion in the hips, difficulty walking and running, knee instability, and knee arthritis. Diagnosis is made by family history, detailed progression of symptoms, X-rays, and MRI Scans. Treatment includes vitamin D supplements, physical therapy, orthotic devices, bracing, guided growth, and knock-knee surgery.
