Hydronephrosis :
Hydronephrosis is a condition where urine from the kidney is unable to drain to the bladder due to obstruction. Symptoms may include swelling of kidneys, sudden pain in the sides of the abdomen and back, nausea, vomiting, painful urination, blood in the pee, urinary tract infection, being unable to empty the bladder, and peeing less than normal. It may caused by kidney stones, obstruction in the uterus, tumors in the bladder, uterus, and prostate gland, benign prostatic hyperplasia, narrowing of the urinary tract, nerve or muscle problems, urinary retention, vesicoureteral reflux, ureterocele, pregnancy, uterine prolapse, and cystocele. Diagnosis is made by physical examination, urine tests, blood tests like CBC, creatinine, estimated GFR, blood urea nitrogen, and imaging procedures including ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI.
