Hip Replacement :
A surgical procedure that involves the replacement of a hip or parts of it with a human-made implant by an Orthopedic surgeon is Hip replacement, also called Hip arthroplasty. It is performed by placing the patient under general anesthesia and replacing the hip with implants made of metal, ceramic, and hard plastic. It is of two types total hip replacement, which involves the replacement of whole hip with a prosthetic joint, while partial hip replacement involves only a replacement of a part of the hip which is used to treat the hip fractures and certain tumors.Hip replacement is recommended by Orthopedic during Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, osteonecrosis, traumas, hip dysplasia, cancer, and benign tumors. Hip replacement provides the benefits of reduced pain, stiffness and increased mobility and range of the patient. It needs several months to recover from a hip replacement with the help of regular exercises and stretches recommended by Orthopedic or Physical therapist.
