Hepatitis A :
Hepatitis A is a contagious infection caused by the hepatitis A virus. It is a short-term illness that can cause liver inflammation. Symptoms may include diarrhea, fatigue, weakness, fever, itchy skin, joint pain, light-colored poop, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, yellow-colored skin, and jaundice. Hepatitis A occurs due to eating raw or undercooked foods, drinking contaminated water, eating food that contains contaminated poop, living in places with inadequate sanitary sewage disposal systems, contact with poop or pee from an infected person, sharing needles, living in crowded places, living with HIV and having oral sex with an infected person. Older age, taking immunosuppressants, and chronic liver disease could be risk factors for Hepatitis A. Diagnosis can be made by signs like enlarged liver and spleen, liver function tests, and blood tests to check specific antibodies.
