Hematuria :
Hematuria is a condition where there is the presence of blood in the urine. The types of hematuria will be microscopic hematuria, dipstick hematuria, and gross hematuria. The major symptom is the presence of blood in the urine, and in some cases, there will be other symptoms observed along with hematuria, such as frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, and urgency to urinate. There are many reasons that can cause hematuria, including urinary tract infection, kidney infection, enlarged prostate, bladder inflammation, urinary stone disease, and, in cancers, also cancer. The factors which will increase the risk of hematuria will be middle-aged and older men, urinary tract infection, family history, medications such as antibiotics and blood thinners. The hematuria is diagnosed through physical examination, cystoscopy, urine tests, CT scan, ultrasound examination, and MRI scan. The treatment for hematuria will be based on the underlying cause, and it can be treated to control the loss of blood in urine.
