Hematuria :
Hematuria refers to the presence of blood cells in the urine. It may be caused by urinary stone disease, urinary tract infection, kidney infection, bladder inflammation, enlarged prostate, injury to the urinary system, menstruation, endometriosis, chronic kidney disease, sickle cell disease, and cancers like bladder cancer, kidney cancer, ureteral cancer, urethral cancer, and prostate cancer. Factors that influence the development of hematuria are having urinary tract infections, congenital urinary abnormality, older age, family history of urinary system infections and kidney stones, dehydration, smoking, people who encounter radiation, metals, dyes, and fumes at work, people having vigorous sexual intercourse and medications like anticoagulants, antibiotics, and NSAIDs. Symptoms may include frequent urination, dysuria, urinary urgency, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, lower back pain, and abdominal back pain.
