Hearing Loss :
Hearing loss is a factor affecting the hearing system and causes trouble in participating, understanding, or following conversations. Hearing loss is classified into various types, such as sensorineural hearing loss, conductive hearing loss, and mixed hearing loss. The presenting complaints of hearing loss are trouble building a conversation over the telephone or in a noisy environment, thinking that people are mumbling, asking people often to repeat what they initially said, inability to hear high pitched sounds, feeling pressure or fluid inside the ear, balance problems, dizziness, tinnitus and earaches. The factors causing conductive hearing loss are earwax, middle ear infections, ruptured eardrum, swimmer's ear, fluid in the middle ear due to cold or allergies, eustachian tube dysfunction, other congenital conditions, and ear tumors. The causes of sensorineural hearing loss are ageing, illnesses like coronary artery disease, genetic conditions, ototoxicity, noise-induced hearing loss, stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
