Giddiness :
Giddiness is also known as vertigo which lasts only for few minutes or seconds. There are various reasons for giddiness. Some of them include stress, starving for long time, excessive consumption of alcohol, or an underlying disease such as diabetes mellitus, cardio vascular disease or uncontrolled hypertension. A very low blood sugar can also cause giddness. Repeated giddiness has to be evaluated and a complete examination has to be carried out. Some of the investigations which a neurologist might suggest fr giddiness are EEG, carotid doppler ,tilt test, ecg and echo. Treatment depends on the underlying cause of giddiness. It may medical management or intervention if needed.
