Fatty Liver :
Fatty liver, also known as steatotic liver disease, is a term that refers to an increased buildup of fat in the liver. Factors that are more likely to develop fatty liver are type 2 diabetes, alcohol use disorder, metabolic syndrome, overweight, polycystic ovary syndrome, obstructive sleep apnea, hypothyroidism, hypopituitarism, hypogonadism and taking medications like amiodarone, diltiazem, and tamoxifen. Symptoms of fatty liver include pain in the abdomen and the feeling of fullness in the abdomen on the right side. It may lead to cirrhosis of the liver when it develops symptoms like nausea, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, jaundice, ascites, edema, and bleeding. It can be prevented by exercising regularly, limiting the consumption of alcohol, maintaining a healthy weight, and taking prescribed medications.
