Eye Test :
An eye test is a special test that is performed by an ophthalmologist or an optometrist. An optometrist can perform a basic eye exam, while an ophthalmologist can comprehensively check the eyes. An eye test reveals how well an individual can see and whether the eyes are healthy. The test is completely non-invasive, meaning it does not involve any cutting or stitching. Eye exams are performed at eye clinics and hospitals. Some stores that sell eyeglasses also have an optometrist with the required equipment to perform a preliminary eye test.
Before an eye exam, the patient is given special eye drops that dilate the pupils and make the examination easier and more accurate. The eye exam involves several steps in which the doctor may check all the different parts of the eyes closely. At the end of the exam, the doctor will report whether the eyes have any problems or if the patient has a vision defect.
