Eye Diseases :
Eye diseases are eye problems that are acute or chronic, causing serious problems to the eye. The most prevalent types of eye diseases include refractive errors like astigmatism, farsightedness, nearsightedness, presbyopia, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes-related retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Depending on the underlying cause, structure, effects, and duration of the disease, eye diseases are classified into various types. The significant signs of eye diseases include eye pain, tiredness or eye strain, irritation, watery eyes, yellowing of white of the eyes, trouble controlling how to blink the eyes, pupils that are too narrow, double vision, changes in the eye movement or alignment, tunnel vision and blurred vision. The causative factors of eye diseases include genetic predisposition, environmental factors, congenital causes, infectious diseases, chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, hypertension and previous eye injuries and different types of thyroid disease. Wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses helps in correcting refractive errors of the eye, and other eye diseases are treated by eye drops, vision correcting surgeries, and other eye surgeries like cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery.
