BPH :
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is an enlargement of the prostate gland in the older men where this enlarged prostate compresses the urethra, leading to urinary issues. Amongst the given symptoms, those which are possibly associated with this enlargement are frequent urination, difficulty initiating or maintaining urination, a weak urine stream, and the feeling that the bladder was not completely emptied. BPH is not cancerous but can significantly impair quality of life because of various symptoms. The cause isn't well understood, but hormonal changes from aging are suspected.
The treatment varies according to the severity that ranges from lifestyle modification all the way to medical management that involves anti anxiety medications for the prostate muscles or prostatic shrinking and even minimally invasive surgical interventions of removal of part of the prostate.
